Gideon Barnett (b. 1982, Jasper, TN) lives and works in Western North Carolina. He holds an MFA from the Yale University School of Art and a BA from Columbia College Chicago. Recent/past exhibitions include The Hole, New York; Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery, Philadelphia; Light Work, Syracuse; The Wolfsonian–FIU, Miami Beach; The Museum of Art, Ft Lauderdale, and the Pérez Art Museum, Miami. Public collections include The Alfond Collection at the Rollins Museum of Art; Light Work, Syracuse; Pérez Art Museum, Miami, and the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library, Yale University, New Haven. He is a past recipient of an individual artist fellowship from the South Florida Cultural Consortium and was awarded the Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship at Yale.
