The Heritage of Humanity [ongoing]
The Heritage of Humanity is a collection of photographs of museums and visitor centers. In the Museum and Library Services Act, the federal government defines a museum as “a public or private nonprofit agency or institution organized on a permanent basis for essentially educational or aesthetic purposes, which, utilizing a professional staff, owns or utilizes tangible objects, cares for them, and exhibits them to the public on a regular basis.” I have photographed a total of 112 institutions in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
